Thank you to all of the generous donors that made Longshots a smashing success this year! Pat Long’s Longshots Portrait Photos started in 1998, and has raised nearly $100,000 for Berner charities through the years. This year Longshots was hard at work at the 2022 BMDCA National Specialty in Hampton VA, and raised a record-breaking $7,000 for Berner rescue activities funded by the BMD Charitable Foundation. With this tremendous support from the Berner community we will be able to help Berners that need to be rescued, healed and placed in loving forever homes. Thank you to Pat and all of her helpers for capturing the true spirits of our dogs in wonderful images that will be treasured forever!

Reasons to Donate to the Bernese Mountain Dog Charitable Foundation
The most important one is because you love the breed, and you want to see all Berners live their best lives. You also benefit because charitable giving to the BMDCF is tax-deductible.
You may want to donate in memory of a Berner or a special person in a Berner’s life. The family will be notified of the donation you made in honor of their loved one, canine or human.
You may want to leave a lasting legacy by including the BMDCF in your estate planning.
We can help you with the language necessary for including us in your will or trust.
How You Can Donate
Whatever the reason for your donation, we give you complete flexibility in how it is used.
You can designate that your gift be directed to one or more of our programs and/or to our general fund.

How your contributions will benefit our Berners is described in the program pages. Your donation to the general fund allows us to use the dollars where the need is greatest or to fund Berner-related projects that don’t fit neatly into one of our defined programs. The general fund also supports the minimal administrative costs associated with running this Charitable Foundation.
You can direct your donations to go through us to other Bernese Mountain Dog 501(c)(3) non-profit groups such as your favorite qualifying rescue organization. A single gift to us can be distributed exactly how you want it to be without having to make individual donations to each cause.

Does Your Employer Match Your Charitable Gifts?
Many companies will match the charitable donations made by their employees to the given charity. It is a great way to make your donation even more meaningful. Contact your company's Human Resources Department and ask if your employer has a matching program. A large number of companies use a third party called Benevity to run their matching program. The BMDCF is registered with Benevity. If your company uses a different method for verifying the credentials of the charities they give matching donations to, just let us know and we will provide them with the information they need.
Please consider helping us offset PayPal and credit card processing fees by checking the appropriate box in the PayPal window. This will ensure that Berners get the maximum benefit of donations made to the BMDCF.
